This is from india, survey done by Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) itself.
It says 53% cases are false.

Wikipedia reports a figure of 2-10%(you can google it)... Most other studies are between 1-10%.

The conviction rate of rapes in india is about 23%. In most other countries its between 5-10%.

So, to conclude.... The cases of rape that are 'proven false' vs 'proven true (convicted) is about 50-50 distribution.

In most cases (80-85%) there is not enough evidence to prove either side. So accused is released.

This does not include unreported rape cases (which are 10 times more) and unreported false accusations (which are 100 times more)...

You make a reasonable guess about the statistics...

Female on male rape is perfectly legal in india. So, although its true that 90% rape cases aren't reported, it includes 100% F on M rapes that cannot be reported, or even punished if reported.

FOLLOW IT THROUGH. That crap can go FAR. You might find someone wants to wear a mask to parties and take it on and off... and you may even have to take it all the way to their parents, but DO IT. People can create problems you MIGHT NOT EVEN BE AWARE OF. RAPE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, ETC, is NO JOKE AND SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. When I think about "believe women" I take that to mean FOLLOW IT THROUGH AND FOLLOW IT OUT. IF they DO NOT WISH CHARGES TO BE FILED, -DROP IT-. Innocent until proven guilty.

BUT FOLLOW IT OUT. Back channel nightmares are NO JOKE. People will seemingly HIDE THOSE FROM YOU FOR PERHAPS YEARS AND BENEFIT THEMSELVES FROM AN ACCUSATION MADE PERHAPS ONCE TO YOU OVER TEXT MESSAGE WHERE YOU DEFENDED YOURSELF BUT THEN GO BEHIND YOUR BACK AND KEEP IT OPEN FOR YEARS. It is NO JOKE and makes one FURIOUS.

Believe women. FOLLOW IT THROUGH. OR treat someone as innocent until proven guilty. There's no problems with hashing IMO ... ESPECIALLY if you believe there is a domestic violence situation... but make sure LICENSED oversight and filtering is in place or at least reasonably requested (and be thorough... no finagling with that! REASONABLY REQUESTED!)
