Feminism's shield is like the Somebody Else's Problem field described by Douglas Adams in his Hitchhiker's Guide series.

An SEP (somebody else's problem) is described (in so many words) in The Hitchhiker's Guide by the character Ford Pefect as a method of ignoring or dismissing that which we do not wish to confront. The field essentially works by passing the buck. "I don't have to deal with this; it's somebody else's problem." Dissertations on real-life examples of this can be found all over the internet if you look.

The feminist version of this, I've come to think of as the Somebody Else's Fault field.

Like the Somebody Else's Problem field, the Somebody Else's Fault field works by passing the buck. The SEF field runs on Patriarchy-theory defined female hypoagency; the idea that because there are more men in positions of authority than there are women, everything women do is somebody else's fault. If you go through feminist advocates' assertions on various issues about which their various organizations lobby, campaign, and otherwise complain, you'll see those factors in aspects of every single item, from the most seriously discussed issues (equating drunk sex with rape; ignoring reciprocity in domestic violence) to the most petulant accusations (like the complaint that women have body image issues because men have standards.) Feminist advocacy, in order to promote the feminist agenda, begins by treating every adversity faced by women as Somebody Else's Fault.

That's what needs to be penetrated in feminist theory. That concept, that while men do things, make things, cause things, and take things, women are considered only to experience things. Things happen because of men; things happen to women. That underlying belief needs to be obliterated. When you can do that, you'll get through that shield, and find that without it, feminism has absolutely no substance whatsoever.

Funny, feminists of color penetrated the shield of early feminism. Marxist feminism penetrated the shield of libral feminism. post-modern feminism penetrated the shield of radical feminism.

Maybe it takes feminism to penetrate feminism.
