Hello everyone,
Due to high difficulty networking from the ground up and recruiting issues, we've been left with no choice but to take action(s) such as making a last-resort post on reddit (if it works, it works).
There is a new group I am involved in, and it's focused on the outdated and prejudiced gender-based conscription and selective service registration that has continued to uphold a lack of empathy (and lack of gender equality) towards millions of males internationally.
It is our belief that we need to have a proper movement going in (at least) the United States before December 18th of this year. If you aren't aware, that is when nationwide automatic selective service registration begins.
With the war in Iran still on-going (with no true sign of ceasing), it is very possible that this (or another pointless war) is greatly increasing the chance of a draft. There has already been a recent drop in standards for selective service, as the age range was widened once again. The signs are clear.
However, even if there wasn't a draft in the United States specifically, there is still injustice prevalent worldwide against the entire male population (besides lawmakers and/or the wealthy). If we can set an example for other countries here or at least provide a destination where men don't constantly have a looming threat over their heads, we believe that would be a huge step in the right direction.
If you aren't concerned with the rest of the world for whatever reason it may be, think to yourself...why? Why does male-only selective service registration still exist in this country? Women have proved internationally that they can be just as capable as men in the military, this system is outdated and out of place in our modern society, and it singles out men as the ones who we are "okay" with killing off.
Even if you support involuntary service to a country that treats men as second-class citizens...At the very least, the men who are forced to be tracked down and logged by the Selective Service System deserve compensation.
This organization's focus is on how we can create a just system and what is realistic for this point in time. No matter the solution, something needs to change. Now. Whether it be providing compensation for those affected, making selective service registration gender-neutral, or abolishing involuntary service entirely...No more sitting around and waiting for congress to take action when it has proven it never will.
Strength is in numbers. We need all the help we can get. If you are interested in being a part of the cause, please send me a message (with any questions you may have and/or your availability) so that we can invite you to a virtual meeting. Our first meetings will be focused on teambuilding exercises and getting to know our members.
Remember, there's still hope and a chance for change. *You* can be a part of that change. Anyone from all walks of life, any country, and any viewpoint is welcome to join us. Solidarity is important, let's put any minor differences aside, and work together for a common goal.
Thank you for reading, we hope to speak to you soon.
