I love this subreddit and I think it’s so important that men and women have a place to discuss men’s issues. But man, it depresses me to scroll on here too long and I thought I’d post something more positive and hopeful for anyone who’s feeling like there’s no hope for humanity.

I have hope for the future.

I went to an all-female liberal college. For every woman that was a hardcore feminist or a man-hater, there was a woman who loved her boyfriend or husband and wanted him to be happy and treated well by society. For every stubborn woman there was a woman who was thoughtful and willing to listen and maybe change their views on equality. In most of my jobs there’s been at least one bitchy girl who would stir up trouble with the guys and blamed bosses or male coworkers for her own problems. And there was always 2-3 other female and male employees who would never tolerate that kind of behavior and attitude.

In all aspects of my life, I have seen that lots of women love men and want men to be happy and succeed. Yes, women can suck and be shitty, especially in large groups or when given too much power, but on an individual level plenty of women just want a nice man who will love them that they can love back.

There are women who understand men are someone’s father, brother, friend, and son and don’t want to demonize men on a group level because they know men are individuals and want to treat them as such. There are women who support men’s rights, even if it’s silently because they’re afraid to speak out. There are many women in the world who are on your side and want to help you and truly be men’s equals. Don’t forget that the game of life is best played with two players, and there are women who want to be on your team. :)
