I've worked at this company now for 3 years. About a year ago the company hired a new controller. At that point in time, the company was bought out by a capital investment company. During that time we really did not have an HR person onsite because the corporate office is now in Florida and they had no representation in the office at that time. So the controller was acting as HR, controller, and manager of the company. Things took a turn for the worst in March when I saw her in one of our meeting rooms and said hi. I was at the door and she walks over to me and kisses me on the cheek. The funny thing is if I didn't turn my face she would have kissed me on the lips. I was shocked and completely speechless. She walks out of the office and says 'that was inappropriate" as she is smiling. I say to her I'm going to tell HR and she says that she is HR. I have a witness that heard what she said but did not see anything. The next day I told my manager what had happened and he never even mentioned it to anybody. Fast forward to the end of June. I finally told the new GM here at work and he reported it to HR. The controller basically denied it after witness statements saying they heard her say that. Basically, HR told me in a meeting that it is my word against hers. They actually said that since there were no witnesses It was some he said she said type of stuff. So basically I took that as since no one was around this woman could get away with whatever she wanted. Do I have any legal rights here?
