Short answer is yes. Long answer is fuck men.

You could bring it up to HR... but good luck getting that changed. You would have better luck telling them that you identify as a woman and you want to use the woman's locker room and showers...

Complain about it and take it up with the boss and particularly HR. If it is a large company write to the board and express your dissapointment at the situation. Stress the importance of a work life balance and how much you value the gym, however you do not feel comfortable using the communal shower arrangement.

That should do it.

Some more info is needed. Setups that would be discrimination in one setting are not discrimination in a different setting.

When where the locker rooms built? In the 1950's there where very different requirements for men and women. The Sexism of the time required that women have more privacy. It would be unreasonable to require complete retrofitting of the men's locker room. While this is "discrimination" its of the level where you should just shut up and deal with it.

Similarly where the locker rooms built at the same time? Older locker rooms tend to have open shower areas and newer ones individual showers. That men had a locker room and a new locker room needed to be built to accommodate women isn't discrimination against men.

Almost all of the similar claims I've heard from women do not reflect current sexism, but legacy effects of past sexism. When I see claims like yours, my first assumption is exactly that. That the difference in insert facility is a legacy effect of long banished sexism.

Simply ask yourself if there is good reason that the current administrators at your office are not responsible for the difference in locker rooms. If the current admin didn't make the choice to have different locker rooms for men and women, the difference does not reflect current discrimination by the admin.

When I was in high school there were two change rooms. The boys was about 20x30 and had ~120 cubbies around the walls where you put your clothes. At each end of the far wall there was an open doorway into a tiled corridor that had shower heads in it. It was about 5' x 20'.

The girls locker room was about, oh, 60 x 80. There were no lockers. Instead there were about 50 individual shower cubicles, each attached to two change stalls. Each entirely private stall shared the shower with one other stall.

Yeah, it's sexist.

Yes, it is discriminatory. Whether it's illegal or not depends on the laws in your country/state/province.

I suggest you write a letter to whoever is in charge. Don't make it about the women's locker room, and don't make it sound like you're jealous. Just say that the men's locker room lacks privacy and this is making people uncomfortable and could open the company up to sexual harassment claims.
