This case raises so many interesting issues. One is Male Privilege. The easiest counter to the Male Privilege argument is "what about homeless men?". Still, at the top of the Pyramid, obviously men have more privilege than women, right? And yet here we have Johnny Depp, a man with immense wealth and status, facing up against Amber Turd, a C list actress just starting out, and the Establishment has lined up squarely behind her. Feminist theory holds that men at the top of the heirarchy have the full backing of the Establishment and women have no such support (this is the 'systemic' part of systemic gender bias). Reality and feminist theory very clearly do not align here.

It is interesting that the whole internet is "siding" with him though. There is no good side in this case. The abuse was mutual. How about we condemn abuse by men and women towards other men and women and move on?
