I'm not sure if this is a rant or a discussion question, so try to bear with me here. I guess what I'm trying to discern is the supposed line that is crossed with topics of "rape culture," especially in the face of black humor.

I'll cite two articles: This article from salon and the article it referenced.

Now I fully understand that these topics are offensive to women, and clearly that is their soul purpose. By design the memes shown in the above article (the second one) are purposelessly designed to be offensive. Explicitly offensive. And yes, for a few of them I let out a small chuckle.

Why? Because their extreme opposition to social norms was funny. The vast majority of men should find this funny; that the consideration of such an act would seem preposterous. I would never consider doing any of the above acts; of beating women, of killing or hurting, of expressing supreme dominance over a woman - that shit is wrong as it is wrong to commit harm to any other person - despite skin color or gender.

I feel like I should realize that while the internet has given voice to the many, it has not carried with it a certain test or license to interpret attempts at humor as simple attempts - that things written or said on an open forum are simply things written or said.

This stuff pisses me off, because as a thinking individual, I find it as my duty to read through the bullshit and laugh occasionally.

Fuck. I dunno. Sorry folks but this is just plain bullshit that people get upset over the above articles.
