My grandfather recently passed away. I was going through his laptop to see if I could collect any pictures or other important documents, when I came across a Word doc titled, "Masculinity". I opened it and this is what it said:

MASCULINITY

What it means to be a man. It is about relationships.

A man is created to be a son, father, husband, and brother, My masculinity is based on how successful I am at being all four of these people.

Husbands, wives, and children compliment one another. They do not compete as equals. Husband and wife are not to treat each other like brother and sister who think they are equal. Husband and wife compliment each other by shoring up the weaknesses of the other. You are not equal. Husbands submit constantly. Not your principles, but your attitude of being congenial and understanding.

Remember - children begin pulling away when they are born. As they grow you have to keep letting go, at the same time giving them your unconditional love. Eventually they begin controlling their own future. How well have you prepared them for it?

Women and children come to you because their emotions are troublesome. They feel you are strong. As you love and affirm them you show leadership. Always listen. You don’t have to solve their problems on the spot. Daughters especially need to talk. Just listen. The attitude that you want to receive from your wives and children, is what they expect from you.

Outward appearance –

You have a pleasant expression on your face. You have a clean looking appearance. You have a presence of being strong and stable. You should extend yourself in caring for others with joy in your heart.
