I'm preparing a short speech for my english class, and I decided to do mine on men's rights. The problem is, I'm not exactly sure where...

Ok. This is what I'd go for, so you tell me if you like the idea, because maybe it won't work, you need to be comfortable with it. What I think could work is, as I said, empathy, so it's not exactly a speech, but rather, you'll tell a short story.

In order to do that, you'd ask them to relax, close their eyes, take a deep breath and imagine that they are a male friend, an uncle, an older brother or even, some man they admire (we're avoiding father specifically to avoid conflicts). You tell them to imagine how it'd feel to be that person. Then you explain a situation at work, where the HR manager, a woman, is harassing them, harassing the man they are imagining to be. "If you don't have sex with me, I will tell everyone you sexually harassed me and I'll get you fired". Things like that. Then she also gets violent and sometimes, hits him. "You know you can't hit me back, if you do, I'll tell everyone you beat me".

You basically follow this path, then you make them imagine how they are telling their male friends. "Wow, you're so luck, free sex!". Then how he's telling his sister "You probably did something to deserve it". Then he goes to the police "This is not possible, this doesn't happen". No one believes the guy, no one cares. The man gets very depressed and sad, because no one understands, no one cares. Then you find out about Men's Rights, but people are like "Why you need that?" "You're a woman hater!" and so on. You know, typical stereotypes. You play with their emotions.

You drag this for a few minutes, then for the last one you talk about how men can also be raped (coerced to have sex like in this situation), can be victims of emotional and physical abuse, how they die earlier than women, how most of work-related casualties are male, etc. Just some facts and then you can end with "This is why we all need Men's Rights"
