What can I do if Washington state took my kids and did not give them back because "they wanted to live with ex", I had full custody for 8 years.

Update: I got my girls when they were 5 & 3 because their mother was unable to care properly for them, no attorneys just a judge that said hell no they were not going back to her. Their mother told them what she wanted, dad makes more money, he paid off judge, etc... The girls always had some resentment against me because of it but I was just worried about raising them correctly and tried to avoid the drama. ( I bit sometimes of course, when picking them up when she decided she wanted to visit them which was rare.) Anyways fast forward 12 years and the youngest is told by there mom on the way back home that she should tell her teacher/counselor that I was a bad person. So I guess according to the complaint that at 3am one night she woke up and I was in her room, nothing else at all, just standing in her room. This may have been me turning off her tv or not real but that was the complaint. I did get a card from DHS on my door, kind of used to the games so I asked the girls what it was regarding and the oldest one said that it was because she had told her counselor I had grounded her. I got voicemail and told the lady I was well within my parental rights to ground my child and stop wasting my time. fast forward 6 months later, girls are supposed to be returned from summer vacation 3 days before school as with every summer. kids are a no show, I go file a police report locally. Drive to Seattle, judge files a writ to return children and arrest anyone standing in the way. Detective goes to pick up youngest and she says she made a complaint 6 months ago but no one ever did anything. The detective refuses to return youngest based on he thinks she has been abused. I then start calling and find out that 6 months before that's why the card was left on my door. Drive back to Portland, meet with DHS next week and a detective go through their whole questioning and all that and they find it was unfounded, they didn't follow up 6 months before because I told them not too? whatever ok done go to Washington to pick up kids, now their DHS is involved. Washington wants a hearing drags it out 3 more months makes it very clear the girls will not be forced to return home and that I will be responsible for paying $1500 a month in child support. I tell my assigned attorney after about 5 trips to Seattle, putting my job in Jeapordy for missing so much work and being threatened that 1/2 my income will go to support Washington State for kidnapping my kids to get me out of all of it and the girls can figure it out without dragging me down as I have no other choice and at this point fighting them in court was not helping our relationship. I had nothing to gain by keeping up the weekly court and fighting for them so I made an agreement with the new state rep as the old one got kicked off the case. Let me out of my financial responsibilities and I walk away. I figured the girls would come around since they got what they wanted, still nothing. Washington State ruined our relationship and now the girls are on assistance and their mother did not want them since she could not get the $1500 in child support every month. I want them to pay for what they did....
