The same debate on this topic seems to be continually rehashed, with the same set of arguments being made. Advocates for routine neonatal circumcision start by ignoring bodily autonomy issues because the body under discussion is male. Many circumcision proponents make emphatic claims about the procedure having positive results, and when contradicted, they weave the debate through a maze of rhetorical fallacies and posturing, beginning with ignoring their own burden of proof and going downhill from there.
