These are different things. Main difference is one existed and the other is invented.

As to the 'men wouldn't allow women to fight'... what about the white feather campaign and women forcing men to fight? It went both ways like everything.

The majority of men who fought in WW2 were forced to be there. It was a horrible meat grinder that slaughtered indiscriminately and people didn't want to go fight and were forced instead.

Women weren't trying to enlist en masse and neither were men. They literally forced unwilling men to go die.
