The reason it's called Men's Rights, as explained in the sidebar, is that this subreddit is dedicated to discussing men's issues. Yes, Men's Rights is for equality for everyone, but to me it's just a place where we can focus on men's issues.

I understand where you're coming from in your concern, but it's sort of naive (and please don't take that as an insult because I don't mean it to be). It's like telling the NAACP they should change 'colored people' to 'all people'. The NAACP is for equality, but they choose to emphasize the struggles that black people have, and that's perfectly legitimate for them to do.

And again, by the way your question sounds, it'd be like saying 'the NAACP wants black people to be better off than any other group because the phrase colored people is in their name'. And that's not true. There are so many different groups that advocate for equality of sexes, races, religions, and all other sorts of differences. Them not explicitly calling themselves by a title that includes everyone doesn't mean they don't truly support equality.

Equal Rights Advocate is far too broad a term, and it sounds like you are helping every possible minority or special group you could possibly think of. You'd have people saying "I thought this was the Equal Rights group, so why can't I post my stuff about women/gays/various races/the poor/etc?" The goals and focus of the group (men) would be lost under the flood of social justice warriors posting their topics du jour, most of whom would be openly hostile to very IDEA that men would even need or deserve a place in their busy schedule of helping "oppressed minorities", whom they view as being "oppressed" largely by (white, straight) men.

I like it. But the problem is that most people here feel that 95% or more of gender issues tackled by society are the injustices faced by women.

If we define ourselves as Equal Rights Activists, we'd be sort of obligated to work on women's issues 50% of the time.

Imagine the men's rights movement grew to the point where that 95% dropped to 90%, and it did so by focusing on just men's issues. If the movement split its attention 50/50, the percentage would drop to just 92.5%.
