This is because if a woman is making 200k a year and a man is making 35k a year, asking him to hand over 1000 dollars a month makes 0 sense. Yes this is what has and will happen.

Agree but they should also cap the % of the non-custodial parents income that can be taken. I think this is already done but have heard it can be obscenely high. Perhaps a sliding scale could be used?

Negative, they can use projected earnings or use what you SHOULD be earning. IE if you have the educational requirements that you can be earning 100k a year but you only make 50k becuase you can't get one of those 100k jobs, some places will still order you child support as if you were making 100k a year. The solution they give you when you say it's too much? "Get a better job or another job"

Yeah see that is ridiculous. There you are playing with what can or could be and completely ignoring reality. The rest of us in the real world deal with what is in front of us. I really can't fathom why this is so difficult in these situations.
