Recently saw a post on TwoXChromosones about a women whos male SO talked about 80 percent of women only wanting to date the top 20 percent of men.
So she wanted to factcheck that and found out that on tinder 75% are men and 25% so she said that therefore the ratio is at best 1 to 3 but because "the gender pool is so skewed" (no I dont know what that is supposed to mean either) you can say its basically even.
Wtf? I honestly have no idea how so many people fall for this "argument". At the time of posting this the post has 2.3 upvotes and got postet 6h ago.
Does anyone have some proper statistics on this? I only found this which also says that 75% are men and 25% are women, but also that men swipe right 46% of the time while women only swipe right 14% of the time. Also 63% of men message within the first 5 minutes after the match while only 18% of women do.
Didnt find a lot more of interest, but all of those stats suggest that the 80/20 rule could very well apply as the man said. Like women not only get swipes from 3 times as many people, they also get swiped on with a chance thats over 3 times higher.
Ps.: I dont wanna critizice the women that dont swipe as often on Tinder, I think women can swipe on as many people as they want. I just think its very bad that a lot of women seem to wash off the fact that men have it a lot harder in dating as false without having any evidence.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
