I was reading up on a theory called the Halo effect, and it was so relevant to today’s world it blew my mind. Basically the Halo effect theory states that if you speak positively about something, it will likely fall into those claims. If you say something or someone is good, they’ll likely act to uphold their reputation. To make it simple, if you tell your dog he’s a good boy, he’ll likely act like a good boy. He’ll do that to maintain your affection and keep that standard. I’m not comparing myself or any man to a dog, I’m just saying that if you hold any living being to a standard it has almost no choice but to meet that standard. Men now are torn down and told their masculinity (the very fabric of their being) is toxic. Society is labeling men as the problem, which is why some men act as if they are actually the problem. Men used to be respected through hard work, not so much fear or misogyny. Now they’ve been diminished entirely.
