Hi all,

I'm going through a very, very messy separation with my soon to be exwife in Canada (Ottawa, ON). We have a kid together. Soon to be ex-wife and I knew it was over like last year, and this year in March, finally called it. Since then, she's turned super crazy. She has my daughter, won't let me see her or let her stay with me overnight. I realize now i should have hired a lawyer the second she moved out of our house (which was back in march). I thought i could give the marriage one more shot, and kept trying to win her back until August- to no avail. That was a mistake.

Last month, she hired a lawyer, and then I did, and we wanted to settle everything easily, but then she got her 2nd dose of crazy and involved CPS when I said i wanted 50% custody because that's what best for our child.

Seeing she filed CPS and wouldnt let me see the kids without supervision, I had my lawyer file a motion to go to court and get a parenting schedule because for the last 5 months, i've seen my daughter a handful of times. Since the lawyers got involved 1 month ago, i've seen her maybe 2-3 times, but even those were not over-night stays. They were during the day for a couple hours at most.

Recently, i got a call from the police that she had filed 4 assault charges on me, dating back all the way from 5 years to as early as this past year. There's no proof and i know it, none of the things have happened.

I have hired a crim lawyer on top of a family lawyer, but i'm just out of words. I can't believe this is happening to me, let alone our child. She's going to suffer. Any advice on strategies from you guys?
