I recently reminisced about a night out when I was a freshman in college (about 8 years ago). I started the night drinking and then blacked out for a while to "wake up" being led to a dance floor by a girl who then continued to grope at me. Apparently we had started dancing or something while I was blacked out. (blacked out meaning my brain was incapable of writing events to memory, not unconscious) While I was drunk I didn't think too much of it, but I definitely didn't feel all that great about it. The next morning however I definitely felt sick about it and even grew extremely anxious hoping that I would never run into her again. She was a very domineering woman that night and I truly feared that she would continue to pursue me.
At that moment I definitely didn't feel raped per se, but most definitely violated. Recently I've been doing some research into definitions of rape and ran into some saying that there doesn't even have to be intercourse to be rape (which there wasn't). Also that sexual acts while intoxicated are rape. That night I wasn't capable of saying no, and she was definitely the one in control since it was her who initiated all action and evidenced by her leading me around.
So was I raped?
