Several months ago I began seeing behavior in Billy that prompted a call to his pediatrician. Both Dr. Wood and Dr. Johnson recommended So and so at This place and have placed a referral in Billy’s file.

I have made an appt for him there for 1pm, December 18. You’ll be receiving a letter, I believe, sometime this week inviting you to have an intro session with Billies practitioner. They specialize heavily in Play therapy

The appt above is Billy only, we are not allowed in the session with him. They have strict guidelines with who can come when, and how to follow certain protocol when there. For example, we wait in the waiting room and do not have dialogue with Sarah of any kind anywhere in Rainier’s presence. Also, we don’t come together—on your residential days I don’t come, and on mine, you don’t come.

Cristine, I am very sorry to hear this. It is also disturbing that this is the first I have heard about any concerning behaviors. Could you please expand on what has been occurring and what has raised your concern? Certainly being on the same page would best serve Billy. I look forward to your forthcoming answer. Best,

OP, Those are things best addressed in that intro meeting with Sarah.

After meeting her, I now understand the importance of trust between she and Billy and how to conduct myself in a way that best allows that.

Details of what’s happening specific to the referral need to be discussed with Sarah, not between you and me. Same goes for topics you may discuss with her privately.

I don’t see this as unfortunate at all. I see therapy as a fantastic opportunity for him to get guidance navigating that huge brain through the developmental minefield of childhood.

Something doesn’t smell right. She has been malignant for years. Any input, insight, thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated
