Full disclosure: I am in my thirties but I'm not looking for dating advice. It's just one of those subs I like browsing from time to time. I'm sure this community knows what I'm talking about.

If you take the time to read some of these comments, a pattern starts to emerge that you don't ever see when younger women are talking about the same kinds of things. Excluding the guys' comments, which are all utterly rote and predictable and not worth talking about, you start to notice two types of women responding:

    1. The repentant woman. "I got rid of my height requirement at some point and I don't regret it at all!"
    1. The defensive and/or passive-aggressive woman. "That's great that you're dating shorter guys now, but don't you dare suggest I'm still shallow for preferring tall men, who are superior in every way. Wait, did I say that last part out loud?"

You just don't see this kind of thing on other subs where women trend younger. You don't see younger women congratulating themselves because they're finally giving a chance to guys they ignored or even felt contempt towards when they were younger. And that's how a lot of the comments in that thread play out. "I hated short guys when I was young but now I think they're great!"...as if that's laudable. As if they were totally incapable of doing that when they were younger. Are short guys supposed to feel grateful towards these (older) women now that they're considered real human beings? What about all those years they spent alone while simultaneously being mocked and/or ignored by the very women that are suddenly interested in them? How much of a coincidence is it truly that this phenomenon only happens to older women who are struggling to find someone worthy of being in a relationship with them?

I am not a TRPer...the only pills I swallow are black. But I think they're onto something here.
