Domestic violence is FAR worse for men. Women at least have support when they go through abuse. Support from government, from the community, from friends, from charity. Men just have to take it and shut up because nobody has any sympathy. And if men ever try to start a movement to bring it to people's attention, women show up to protest and bitch about the patriarchy.

I was abused by my ex. She slapped me in the face and kicked me often. I didn't hit her back because I was so afraid of myself that I snap and beat the shit out of her, so that bitch could go to the police. She told me that and threatened me. Never felt so powerless, defenseless and emasculated. If I had gone to the police on the other hand, they would have laughed at me. It's the humiliation that hurts, not the violence.

Does anyone seriously think domestic violence by women is the same? Men can, and do, generally cause alot more injury than women can. Should they be treated differently under the law? Not at all. The injury caused is important, not potential to cause injury. So even under this perfectly fair metric, men will get punished more.
