If you further read the article it will be clear where the 74% stat comes drom. Approx 40% cases are filed by girl's family member coz she married the guy or eloped with him and family didn't liked or approved of the marriage, which are, without a doubt, false cases. Another approx 30% are those where the guy broke up or didn't marry the girl he said at the begining of relationship that he would. So now she claims the consentual sex she had with the guy while being in relationship is "rape".

Here the guy has to prove his innocence, not the other way around. If there is slightest of doubt if the accused could be guilty, he's not acquited. There're decent number of people behind bars who couldn't prove where they were at the time of incident.

Hence the number would be much higher than 74%.
