Love him, or hate him. This man’s character was that of a true man. He refused to listen to naysayers and always chose to do things his way.
Theodore Roosevelt was born a sickly child with poor physical condition, nearsightedness, and asthma. His own father saw the condition of his son and told him these word.
“Theodore, you have the mind but you have not the body, and without the help of the body the mind cannot go as far as it should. You must make your body. It is hard drudgery to make one’s body, but I know you will do it.”
After hearing those words out of his fathers mouth he took it to heart. He conditioned himself by lifting weights, hiking, walking, and living what he called “Strenuous Life"
Theodore got bullied a few times from some older kids and you know what his response was? He took up boxing lessons. Every problem he had in life he tried to fix by making himself better, and that’s what makes Theodore Roosevelt a man.
Theodore Roosevelt’s mother and wife died on the same day.
