Hi yall! I rarely post on reddit so bare with me...
I [f 23] have recently taken my relationship with my boyfriend [m 29] to the next level. I will be moving in with him soon, and everything seems to be going pretty well.
My biggest issue has been the unwarranted feeling of abandoned. It happens when he doesn't text me back for a day, even if it's for perfectly good reason! (i.e. right now he is spending time with his kids [5 and 12 y/o] and family for the holidays).
I also find myself feeling jealousy when he spends a lot of time with his daughter, because i have never had a great relationship with my father and envy what they have.... i completely understand that this is not healthy and i would never express contempt towards either of them! But it does elicit deep feelings of self hatred instilled from childhood and adolescence and jealousy for their relationship.
I am going to talk to a therapist again, and nothing feels terribly out of control, but I was wo dering if anyone out there can relate to these feelings? Or if anyone could share some helpful advice on how to feel joy for myself and my boyfriend during times when im not "the center of attention" i guess.... i just want to be able to love myself, him, and his children the way we all deserve to be loved, any tips?
