I’m 23 YO, and my bf is 37 YO. We’ve been together for almost 3 months. I do really love this guy so much so I’m try to follow this advice “Don’t invest in a guy based on how much you like him; invest in a guy based on how much he invests in you”. For example, today I was excited talking to him but I felt somehow he was cold and then he disappeared in the middle of the conversation with no execution, and when he replied I read his message but didn’t reply back. So he sent a romantic poem to me and a romantic song - here I started to invest on him again -. Last week, he told me before that he really dislikes this kind of behavior, and told me to not listen to my feelings but to ask him but I cannot apply this to everything. So in this example, if I texted him “why did you left me?” or “why you you doesn’t seem interesting to talk to me?” somehow I’d look needy. So do you think low investment is a kind of passive aggressive behavior ? And am I doing the right thing or not ?

Note: this previous example was just a small one. But understanding how to deal with it will help me with other situations.
