Self-effacing humor also comes off as weak/beta more often than not. Not unless there's a strong juxtaposition to offset it so that the incongruity is obvious so to signal that you're kidding.

tl;dr - stay far away from self-effacing humor in your shit test responses, especially if you're not obviously the opposite of what it is you're saying.

Coming up with these kinds of responses isn't hard per se, but is there anyone like me in that the tone I make it out always sound like I'm arguing as an inferior?

The easiest thing to remember when it comes to shit tests is to make sure you show her it does not affect you emotionally or mentally.

That is the essence of passing a shit test, to show that you are unmoved and stable.
