Based of my experience as 17 year old I will create Guides on how to incorporate TRP in your life as a sub-18. The topics I will touch on are School, books, looks, fitness and nutrition, free-time activities, sleep and attitude. The Guides may improve in quality over the course of the Guides.

Experimenting

I was actually going to make Part 4 about Friends, but then I felt like I had more to say about Experimenting and why it is so damn powerful to start with in our age. My focus will be on experimenting itself, the tracking, and the urgency of a strong mindset during the experiment.

In our young lives there are so many variables that influence us that we have to find out which one we can change to positively affect us

Think of a complicated Excel-table, if you change 1 box everything changes and the results are completely different:

Humans are the same.

Let me explain it with an example:

The human body (and especially the young human body) isn't just influenced by the hormones going apeshit, it is influenced by the drugs it consumes (porn, music, weed, alcohol, coffein and sugar, by the rest it gets (sleep), by the amount of physical exercise it gets (fitness) and the amount of mental exercise it gets (meditation, yoga, reading, problem-solving etc.), what we consume (fast-food, vegetables, macro-nutrients, supplements etc.) and many more factors.

Now imagine, every human being has a different excel-table, that means everybody has to find out for himself what works best and what doesn't

And that's where our young age is highly beneficial:

Since we're young we can experiment with all of these factors without risking anything. Feel like experimenting with sleep? Do it, the worst that can happen is that you are sleepy in school, the best that can happen is that you find out what your optimal amount of sleep cycles is and that you successfully worked with your body. You didn't try to outsmart it or drug it to be fully functional, you just listened to it. However the way I described finding out your perfect sleep cycle is extremely simplified and doesn't work as easily as that, you can only find the optimal factor-settings trough trial and error.

This means, tracking is an essential part of finding the optimal amount of something

  • Tracking

Tracking is explained easily: you test something for a longer period of time (week, month, you get the point) and note down the results, positive and negative. At the end of experimenting you decide which worked best and make it your habit. During Tracking nothing is more important than having a strong mindset, think of an scientist experimenting; do you think he will suddenly stop and start another experiment? No. He will continue with that one until it's done to see if the results are as expected, better or worse. Imagine a baby, you have 3 types of baby-food and you try to feed each one to it, lets say the feeding takes 1 week each. Week 1 goes okay, it didn't want it but you didn't notice too much resistance from it, week 2 goes awfully bad, the baby resisted and cried and didn't want to eat that food, but you still tried to feed it to the baby. Now week 3 hits the baby and it literally craves for another portion of it.

That's how your body will crave it.

Your body is a metaphorical baby, it can't speak but it knows what it wants and the only thing you can do is either ask modern doctors or experimenting. In my opinion though, modern doctors try to sell you overpriced shit to shush that baby completely so experimenting should be safest way.

(EDIT: Doctors can only tell you what they see, the rest is up to experimenting.)

Experiments I felt were extremely important were:

Abstaining from porn and masturbation, sleep scheduling and sleep cycle experimentation, fitness ( optimal times per week and workout length), supplementation (you can ask your doc for a blood-test to tell you on which departments you need supplementation, that blood-test costs a shit ton of money though), meditation, low carb vs high carb and the question if I really need sugar.

When we find the optimal amount and figure out how our body works we obtain a luxury many people didn't even know existed:

Harmony.

Harmony with our bodies, because modern medication just fights off the signals your body gives you. It's like a baby trying to tell you that it wants more of this or less of that. Think of somebody with sleeping issues: He takes pills to sleep, while it solves his problem temporarily the root of the problem wasn't touched at all. (Too much stress, sitting too long infront of the computer before sleeping etc.)

This was the topic Connections, if you have questions feel free to drop a pm, I'll prolly add more stuff to this Guide. Also feel free to comment on my writing style and formatting, it will help me improve it in a way that I can incorporate it in future posts. If you're interested in a blog let me know, if there's enough interest i'll prolly start one.

I may be adding more to this topic later.

Always remember: We are all going to make it some day.
