Abortion: yay or nay?

This really isn't the place for this topic.

My position is simple, I don't give a fuck what someone else wants to do. I really don't. If a girl wants to get an abortion, congrats that's one less baby trapped man in the world. If the girl wants to keep it, congrats to her, free money is resources.

That may come as a shock to people who are determined to go around telling others what they can and can't do. Personally IDGAF.

Boys growing up without their fathers is the cause of so many social ills, that I don't understand how anyone can be opposed to abortion on principle. Is it a good thing? Desirable? No, of course not. However, to suggest that on balance removing abortion would have a net positive effect on society is wrong.

What do you do in cases of rape or incest, no matter how rare they are? What about the girl who gets knocked up at 16 by a guy who isn't going to stick around? If we here at TRP are interested in fostering more stable relationship dynamics, then abortion shouldn't really be a debatable issue, because there's nothing stable or right about single mothers with a kid they didn't want.

It's a woman's body, it's her choice. But in all fairness, the father should have the right to terminate i.e "legally abort" all rights and obligations pertaining to the child up to a certain point in the pregnancy. Of course, the odds of that happening any time soon are slim to none.

It's called birth control because someone controls the birth. If YOU don't want a baby then control the birth. Thanks to abortion crimes rates are lowered and parents who actually want to be parents are there for their kids. It's nasty and morally/ethically up in the air but it has it's place in society.

Really, it's the hamster taken to a societal level. Even in cases of rape or incest—do you have any moral ground to stand on by killing the fetus, which through no fault of its own is reliant on you for nine months of development—less now with medical technology.

Interestingly enough, science seems to be working against the "negative rights" argument in favor of abortion, as fetal pain and the viability of earlier pregnancies becomes commonplace.

If we get to a point where artificial wombs are created and some type of transfer can take place around 20 weeks, would people still favor abortion? What are they against—the nine month process of pregnancy (yes, in my opinion) or the existence of the individual fetus and its humanity?

I don't see why we would want to talk about abortion on TRP, except insofar as to discuss the lack of male input into the decision. There are other places to discuss your political and ethical beliefs regarding abortion.

Today is really idiotic to get pregnant without wanting it.

A girl has the final word about the abortion. Her body, no doubt about that.

Btw it's about killing a kid, no shit, i am against it.
