It isn't a bleak outlook it is a realistic outlook. Take a minute and go read a few hundred stories about what happens to men in divorces. EVERY SINGLE ONE of those guys thought that it would last. No one gets married thinking that it won't last a year. Every single guy thinks that he has beaten the odds and will find or has found the one true awesome woman.

The reality of it is that marriage sucks. You take a gamble on a hope that another person will never change their mind about you. Do you really think you know your girl enough to say that she will never get bored with you and start boning the neighbor or that guy from work? Are you willing to bet half of everything you own and a payment to her for an extended period of time on the hope that she is the "One"?

Some people end up in a marriage that lasts. The odds of that lasting marriage being a "happy" relationship instead of just a tolerating relationship is also low. So what you are left with is, you have a really really low as fuck chance to find the perfect girl, marry her, and then have that last in happiness.

Trying to protect yourself with a prenup will do basically nothing for you. Judges are just throwing those things away. Women can claim they were signed under duress and many other things.

Ultimately it's up to you. Can you say that the risks are worth the rewards? Do you trust your girl to be with you forever faithfully and not withhold sex or turn ugly and mean? It might work for you. I mean someone's gotta win the lottery right?
