Definition

Alpha can be, but =/= Alpha Male (group dominance). Alpha is not defined as how much pussy you can get. Alpha is also not a particular behavior. Alpha is a mindset. It's a mentality of self respect. It's a person who prioritizes their own well being. It's a person who perceives themselves to be whole without external contribution. It's a person who asks themselves these two questions in any given situation:

    1. “How will this benefit me?”
    1. “Do I want to do this?”

Signs of the Alpha Mindset

You can do the right thing for the wrong reason. Therefore, a behavior in itself cannot be considered 'alpha'. A behavior is a symptom, a manifestation of a mindset. Action is a product of thought. When a person consistently behaves in a way that allows them to obtain their goals of self-improvement and pleasure, what ever they may be, without letting fear or dissaproval deter them, or quitting, complaining, and shifting blame upon failure, is said to have an 'alpha' mindset. The attribution of the alpha mindset is amoral and independent of intergender dynamics and a person's socioeconomic status. Whether you are rich or poor; civil or thuggish; kind or dark triad does not matter.

Conclusion

Does a course of action benefit you? Do it. Do you want to do something? Do it. Sometimes you have to do something you don't want to do now to get what you want later; gotta do what you gotta do. Sometimes you want to do something for someone else out of generosity; if it feels good, go ahead, altruism is not a sign of weakness. And sometimes people won't approve of what you're doing; you can't win 'em all and who cares. If you're doing something because it benefits you, or because you want to, in order to improve yourself and seek personal pleasures, without settling for a low quality outcome, you are practicing the alpha mindset.
