I feel like, Tosh, as a comedian says the things he does because he knows they're true and his occupation allows him to go "oh no, no you don't understand, it's just a joke. Even if most of the audience laughs, I think he knows that he's 'planting the seed' in at least some people. And they don't even have to be men(if you've seen his physical audience it's fairly diverse, but the actual numbers show that it's an overwhelmingly male viewership).

For instance, tonight on his show, "Tosh.0" for the unfamiliar, he said "Plus-sized, average, skinny, it doesn't matter as long as you're super young." I just thought that it was a profound truth and he knows it and takes advantage of his "comedian schtick" to say the things he does without getting in trouble.
