Your analysis is sound, but you're still doing non-TRP things, to put it gently.

Texting with an ex every once in a while validates her while doing nothing for you. You're wasting your time to make her feel good.
Meeting your ex after work to 'catch up' validates her while doing nothing for you. You're wasting your time to make her feel good.
Unless this texting and meeting leads to some NSA sex really quick (like next meeting quick), you're wasting your time to make her feel good.
It's generally a bad idea to try to get back with your ex.

TLDR - first really obvious examples for me of AWALT and hamstering since reading TRP.

That's not a tl;dr, it's a re-statement of the title. A tl;dr is supposed to give me an idea whether I'm interested in reading a longer exposition of the content.

Brings up the SO - this spreads the blame to me and helps her justify her actions.

More than that, it gives her plausible deniability. Later, should you make an unwanted advance she can bring up the recently-mentioned boyfriend as an excuse. Should you make a wanted advance, she can bring him up as a shit test or to slut-shield. And if and when he discovers she went out with you, she can show him the text and tell him "see? I told him straight away I have a boyfriend".

Women are incredibly good at playing this sort of game. Throughout history, the survival and success of themselves and their offspring depended on their social skills enabling them to be accepted by the tribe and keep their provider(s) around. They are hardwired to think along these lines whereas we have to learn it.

Also:

You need to consider whether you should be doing that. What's your endgame with her? do you genuinely like the conversation or are you still pining for her and thus making yourself into her beta orbiter?

Stop texting/contacting your ex. They are using you for validation . This is feeding their female ego and female narcissism .

I think this is a bad example of hamstering. I wouldn't outright say it's orbiting if it's good practice and if his intention is just to talk (what for? No point). It's nice to know that you could get her to do things for you and better practised with an ex than someone new that you want. Friendship is fine, you don't know his intentions but because of emotions it's best left in the past. Taking charge isn't exactly a "concept" and when you say it like that it makes you look like you just never would. You can sit down with this girl for coffee and as soon as she mentions her boyfriend tell her let's talk about something else. That completely clears up having to sit there and hear someone talk about something boring.

I hope it doesn't blow your mind too much to see hamstering and justifying at low levels. Telling someone to meet them somewhere is not game and having coffee and conversation with an ex isn't really them hamstering, it's more-so you orbiting.

You can't always say that these TRP things are absolute until you make her cheat. Then it becomes clear.

Why are you texting exes? This post reeks of some residual BP habits. Abundance mentality is key-- plate a chick like her, at best, don't LTR her. Even if you did LTR her, you shouldn't be looking her way again-- she's probably damaged good by the sounds of it.
