Power is to be used with caution, and never to get ahead of oneself.

I think this is something that isn't talked about enough on TRP.

The amount of info and knowledge that I've gained from books like the 48 laws or stoicism is almost dangerous to myself. You want to go out and share or use all this massive information you've been given. It's like playing chess and seeing your opponents moves 5 steps ahead of him, but it's your own life and those around you. You forget, the people that wrote and taught you these lessons have done so through years of personal experience and exercise. They are masters of their teachings that are so well versed they can verbalize and articulate their life lessons for others. You haven't even got your toes wet yet.

It's like a nuclear engineer spending an hour teaching a kid about his job, then letting the kid loose in a nuclear power plant. It's a recipe for disaster if you don't manager yourself correctly.

TRP has a vast wealth of information to be had, just be mindful of your actual skill level and ability vs your knowledge and understanding. Typically the latter will far surpass the former. Throw a bit of ego into the mix and you'll find yourself quickly destroying your entire life.

The real benefit of stoic discipline is you become able to reprogram yourself.

This has just happened to me recently where I suddenly realized a certain strategy I had been employing which had trained my own emotions towards a certain outcome was not going to yield the results I wanted.

Rather than double down on the emotional pattern I realized I must reprogram myself to a new habit of behavior and that would require discipline to cut out certain things and add others.

Most people simply follow their emotions.

Whatever crazy mixed up Blue Pill mythology gets rammed into someone will become the emotional pattern they swear by.

Stoic discipline says:

"I am my own self reprogrammer."

The fundamental aspect of Stoicism lies in reflecting on impermanence. All is rising and passing like the shifting clouds above. By being mindful of how temporal human experience genuinely is one may live an unfettered life free to pursue an existence of perceived value and virtue.

All is what your mind makes it out to be.

Somehow I doubt you've gone to the end of Meditations, as your advice is vastly different from MA's moral philosophy.
