I think Cool is so hard to pin down because there's no value to point to about it. Being cool is leaving space for awesome shit to happen.
Let me explain that using a reference from the Tao. Why is a house valuable? If I took all the wood that makes the house, and threw it down on the ground in a pile, it wouldn't be as valuable as the house, but it technically would be all the ingredients for the house. So the thing we actually like about the house is the space it gives for things to happen. Being cool is kinda like that. You aren't doing something, you are the person who is able to have space to allow things to happen and direct it. You aren't trying, you're flowing. You don't do cool, you pull back and give space to guide things to happen.

That's the most Zen description of cool I've ever read.

I have found myself in this position, not bragging or anything, just a realization of what I needed to do for others. I am attractive, 6', and knowledgeable. I know this is pure fate, and I am always thankful for that. Social norms is a big point, and the main reason you can be "cool." At a young age I detested what made people "cool" and the status/ego that came along with it. It is for this reason I surround myself with people that bring me joy, and likewise are fun to be around. This came out to be a very diverse group, with many who are still working on their "game" per se. Being the ringleader (glue as OP fantastically called it) brings many things with it. When we go out, they look to me for guidance. Much of my going to the bars/party is spent helping my boys with whatever they need. The first always being to break the ice. Having a wingman is really a great tool to use, as it's easier for one group to approach another (cuz lets be honest, they're there for the same reason).
A few things I notice and to play on:
I could go on but its late and I'm up early :P Will fix grammar/structure later
