Hello /r/theredpill,
Today I would like to raise attention to an aspect of improving yourself I believe is quite important for people like me to remember. And I believe some of you may find it applicable to your lives as well.
When I first started walking the path of RedPill, I was in a very bad spot mentally and emotionally. I had been stressing myself out over most things, however important or unimportant. I fretted over things I had no control of. I used to context everything that happened around me as some kind of conspiracy to keep me down or something. Worst of all, I had no real support network behind me to help me bounce back.
Now, one of the basic axioms of RedPill is that you have to be self sufficient. After all, at the end of the day you only really have yourself. But you really have to receive help from others when you need it in order to be able to grow as a person and give back on your own terms. Most of the time parents and direct family play this role, but I didn't receive that.
From my disturbed eyes RedPill only led to me being even more narcissistic and working in extremes. In order to be sucessful I felt like I had to be the best thing around, it just became added pressure. Eventually I slumped into depression.
At the time of writing I am not even remotely close to fully recovering, I still have a lot of way to cover. But I did have some realisations about RedPill and I feel I am closer to the point of this whole philosophy than ever before:
Having a nice house, starting a successful company, being around exciting people, these are all long term goals. You can't go from average introvert to Louis CK in one day, however much work you are putting into it. You have to give things time for them to grow to fruition.
You have to celebrate every little meaningful step towards your goals. This is the only way for you to feel your work actually making progress for yourself.
Know your limits. You have to balance work and play, putting work before play. Otherwise you are just hurting yourself and your goals.
You can eject thoughts from your mind. It does take a lot of power. But why should you let your conscious mind subject you to harmful, made up stuff just because? If anyone is keeping you down in that case it's yourself.
That was good to write. It's not even close to the amount of things I want to say, but I do have to finish it somewhere if I want reddit to read it without a TL;DR. If at least one person finds meaning in my words, I have given back to the community.
Stay focused.
