It's easy for the man to fall in love with this woman because she takes care of him like men want to be taken care of.

The woman on the other hand will be around so long as she gets what she needs. He needs to develop some other value to her because insurance and a place to live are no longer going to be enough, soon enough.

One night I was very stressed out, and yelled at her about something pretty inconsequential (she had taken my sons to see Santa without me). She, of course, became quite frightened, but we worked it out and I even offered to pay for her to see a counselor (she didn't).

Although it may come off as mocking, and perhaps we do start laughing about it- the real purpose is to identify the behavior when it happens and document it's regularity.

Unlike SRS or the like, we're not pulling up examples of men doing something wrong because we hate them or think they disagree with us fundamentally. Instead we pull them up as a learning experience. Most of us were like that at one point or another.

Whereas SRS would mock and say the guy is a shitlord, we mock and say "this guy needs a best friend to punch him in the arm and tell him he's being a dolt."

I'd almost be 100% willing to bet her loving brother couldnt help pay for her medical condition because to get benefits from the military you have to be married to or direct children of the person in the military. Since her brother could not marry her (incest and laws relating to that) his friend helped her out by doing it.

Notice he got a prenup and all that other stuff. He didnt go into it with goo-goo love eyes thinking everything is gonna be rainbows and sunshine either.

I dont really think this falls into a straight bluepill/redpill sort of black and white morality here.

The guy found it convenient to have the woman around to help raise his kids. Likewise she found it convenient to marry him for medical benefits and would be impossible to do with her brother. Ironically they are both getting use out of the relationship in question. In many ways this could almost be a complete role reversal of the stereotypical AFBB (guy bagging a woman to help with his kids)

After a few years of living with her he's got feelings for her. Now he's got to confront those feelings. Either way he's a marine... Military men tend to be pretty alpha naturally. Maybe she's been waiting for him to make a move all this time and stayed with him because of loyalty? Which would make her a very rare catch indeed.
