His explanation was that women interpret everything as being about them, and then decide if it's a positive or negative remark.

It sounds like you're caring about someone getting angry for 'no reason' (in your mind). We could all talk about how this is a shit test, and she's trying to see if you're the 'man' she thinks you might be, but at the end of the day, it's not a game.

Treat it like how you would treat a child when they throw a tantrum, laugh at the dumbness in perspective as you go about your own goals.
