I've been mulling this post over for some time because I'm not sure how well it will go down. However, I believe the underlying principle is inherently Red Pill, especially in terms of the Red Pill's nature of being "against the grain". This sub also assumes nothing of the reader, simply presenting information without pandering or sugar-coating, and trusts that they will do the research and decide for themselves what is and is not valid, appropriate, and useful. I'm going to present this principle to you along those lines. Read, think.

A Higher Goal

Let's begin with an analogy.

Picture yourself as working on an important business deal with a client. You arrange to have dinner with them with the aim of winning them over and therefore winning their sizeable business.

There's two routes you could take:

  • Learn to personally cook a suitably impressive meal for your client.
  • Take them to a fancy restaurant and cover the cheque yourself.

Assuming you do it well, the best possible choice would be to cook the meal yourself. Not only will the client be much more impressed, but you personally gain too - you learn a valuable new skill, which you can now employ elsewhere in your life. Why would the client be more impressed this way? Because you've demonstrated a skill, which is rare.

However, let's say you don't have the time or energy to learn to cook well enough; or you gave it your best shot, but you just weren't good enough. You take the restaurant option. The client is still pleased, though not as much as if you'd cooked; but you can close the deal, secure the business, and move onwards and upwards to greater things.

Society doesn't frown upon you taking the restaurant option. It's par for the course; it's expected. The standard route. Personally cooking for the client is seen as above and beyond the call of duty. After all, the meal is just a tool used in the pursuit of a higher goal. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to achieve it, but one is better than the other. By taking the restaurant route, you've still achieved the goal - you've just missed an opportunity to benefit in other ways.

Society

There are some scenarios, though, where there is a "right" or "wrong" way.

  • The right diet: a sensible mix of protein, carbohydrates and fat? Or... just sugar?
  • The right speed to drive: Below the posted limit? Or whatever you personally judge is appropriate?
  • The right way to see a movie: at the theater? Or downloading a pirate copy?

Look consciously at all situations that have a "clear" right and wrong, and notice whether the "right" path is for your own benefit... or for someone else's, which normally means: for society. Because as we all know: society doesn't give a shit about YOU. Society serves itself. It also only works if most people continue to serve it - if everybody starts prioritising themselves and to hell with the rules, the whole thing crumbles. This is still a bad thing - society gives everybody huge personal benefits, like medicine, not having to hunt for food, and no longer needing to live in fear of being attacked by bears.

But.

Society works on a hierarchy - in order for there to be a top for everyone to strive for, there must also be a bottom. Social conventions exist to enforce everyone's positions within the hierarchy. The secret is... if you don't play by the rules, there are plenty of ways to escalate your position beyond your natural station. The whole system hinges on most people playing by the rules.

Specifically on the subject of sexual strategy, there are a number of social right/wrong choices that exist purely to serve what Rollo Tomassi calls the Feminine Imperative. They serves women's sexual strategy, even at the expense of you as an individual. What are we talking about here? The Red Pill. Pickup artistry. Prostitution. Anything along those lines that is portrayed in the media as shameful, or creepy. It's a subconscious process to keep men at their "proper" position in the alpha/beta structure so women can ensure they don't accidentally have some icky beta babies, because a genetic loser managed to act like an alpha long enough to DECEIVE his way into her pants. In the case of prostitution, it's to keep the market value of pussy at a high so that men will keep competing for it no matter the quality or cost. If there was no shame in using a prostitute, men would very quickly give up on properly dating and committing to women, because the cost simply wouldn't be worth it for most men when he can get some great sex for a few bucks with no stigma. This shaming is a good thing - it made us the world-conquering species we are today. But it's good for the SPECIES - not necessarily every individual.

Cheating

As part of the broader Red Pill concept of Owning Your Shit, there is another way. It should be used only after great consideration and with eyes wide open.

We all have personal limitations. In theory, we can all overcome them through force of will alone. The best route is ALWAYS to overcome those limitations through will. You'll enjoy the most side benefits as a result, and the satisfaction of achieving something difficult.

In reality, we may lack something necessary for success - motivation, energy, will, physical ability. As long as you can honestly say to yourself that you've given it your best shot, then fuck it. Cheat. If the choice is between success through cheating or no success at all, then I say cheat. Hollow success without the side benefits is better than stagnation.

This is not permission to give up on day 2 of your diet. This is not saying it's OK to quit the gym after three sessions. I am not glorifying being a wilfully useless fuck.

Why is this even something we're talking about? Because achieving goals stacks. With one goal out of the way, even achieved through the wrong method, your mind immediately turns to the next goal - the next thing to strive for, which is by definition a higher goal than the first. And one that you CAN pull off without cheating.

Even cheating has a cost. It may be easier than doing it the correct way, but it's still not guaranteed to be easy, and probably requires a different skillset. Many times it will be abstracted through the medium of money. Back to the cooking example - if you lack the skill to cook yourself, then you need to pay the restaurant bill. If you want to get laid and can't land a normal girl, you're going to need to pay a hooker. If you want a raise at work but you're not actually skilled enough for the higher position, you'll have to try your luck charming the boss. If you need to ace a test but aren't good enough to do it on your own merit, you'll need to accept the risks of being caught and devise a cunning plan to ensure your good grade. If you are shit at keeping your apartment clean, and you can afford it, then get a maid. It's trading in a different skill instead of the "correct" one.

These examples are "immoral" ones, but that's not a requirement. A wise man once said, Attain things others cannot, by doing things others will not. Cheating is just an emotionally charged word for it. The key technique is to re-frame: something that you want but cannot achieve within its natural frame, into a new frame where you CAN achieve it. If you're sensible, it's a frame where it's actually very difficult NOT to achieve your goal; either because you've switched it up so success comes from something you ARE skilled at, or by removing your ability to fuck it up. Even the fattest guy will end up skinny if he moves to live on a desert island. Even the ugliest, game-less guy will get laid if he's paying.

It's a Hierarchy of Needs thing. Best case scenario, you take care of those lower-level elements yourself through your own internal drive, the correct natural way, and can then focus on the higher elements. But the most important thing is that you eliminate those needs because you can't achieve shit until you have. Doctors will prescribe sleeping pills if you can't get a proper nights' rest, because although medicine-induced sleep is "cheating" and isn't as good as proper natural sleep; it's a shitload better than no sleep at all and allows the patient to focus on higher-order needs. In time, and with success in other higher areas, the lower-order need will hopefully return to being resolved automatically and naturally.
