I am in college and quite successful in the bar/dance scene. All conversations must be extremely brief and direct - "Dance with me", or "I want you", even "Damn, you look good" works unconditionally in getting the point across.

Seriously, do not worry about conversing, there's usually time for this at the end. Be memorable and she will come seeking you.

Approach instantly after a girl gives you the "I want you" glare. Do not hesitate, just do it.
