part of being alpha is to develop and adopt at least enough machiavellian principle to know a trap before you've snared yourself in it.

I'd argue it's the most important of the three dark triad characteristics to hone when unplugging. That is, unless you're going for a lone-wolf thing.

The guy is hurting for sure, he says that he feels like his two closest people have been ripped away from him. Unfortunately, his two closest people were horrible, backstabbing motherfuckers.

The guy needs to follow up on that lead, and get some sex because he misses intimacy. Something tells me he is going to take quite some time to get over his ex though. Isn't it rich how she called him immoral while basically cheating on him emotionally and then going after his best friend?

Women have NO RIGHT to call anyone immoral yet they do, regrettably oh-so-often.

I see your point. It can be tough when you've invested heavily into a couple people though. He got dealt a shitty hand for sure.

I'm hoping this kid will grow a backbone over this and become a better man when the dust settles. For some of us, myself included, it took getting beat down before I was able to respect myself.
