Semi FR rant here. I work in remote forestry operations in Canada, and over the last few years have advanced in the ranks. I have noticed a marked difference in the way that people at work/ in the towns I visit treat me since being promoted. The thing is, I only get the Chad treatment when my status is readily apparent, I don't change anything about the way I act from being in charge to non-work social interactions. For example, when I'm away at work, in a bar I put very little effort into pursuing women, I just have a good time (or try to) and let barstar chicks come to me. When I go home (thousands of miles from where I work) I interact the same way, dress a little better, but am pretty much the same guy just without the entourage of colleagues who respect and/or admire me. The treatment I receive from people (I notice more with women) is night and day, I may as well be invisible. Anyone else experience a circumstantial change in alphaness? I've only recently attempted to articulate my observations and this place seems like it'd be great for a clear and concise theory/analysis of what's happening here. Thanks guys
