I am travelling through Australia/ SE Asia atm, and have been taking the opportunity to break my AA. It seems like it goes in phases, I have no problems in familiar environments, such as small towns, hostels, lounge bars etc. I find that it comes back every time I switch towns, which I have been doing roughly every week and a half (usually following a successful pickup). I want to avoid falling into a.comfort zone, even if I find/form a good group of people. I just think that if I stay.where I'm comfortable that I'll repeat the same experiences amd miss opportunities. The downside is that I have to break my AA every time. I'm starting to want to stay in one place for longer, but I think that this comfort may come at the expense of valuble experiences. Any advice/comments? (EDIT) I had also meant for this to be a critique of the nature of AA as it is discussed on this forum, using my anecdote as a microcosm; I think that overcoming AA posited as a permenant side effect of outcome independance, but that in reality it waxes and wanes due to environmental factors. TLDR; Outcome independance is not static and can increase/decrease depending on one's environment.
