This is just a brief discourse on control for those who haven't thought it through.

Control, or more precisely the struggle for control, makes up a huge portion of human actions and interactions. Feminism, for example, is articulated on the premise (as opposed to being actually founded on) the premise of the lack of females' right to control; i.e. abortion is often argued as a women's right to control her body.

Social interactions are usually about control, who can position themselves so as to best influence group dynamics and activities. Who gets the best access to mating opportunities.

Professional politics often boil down to who controls. Who controls the money, the resources, or the information.

The multi functional female shit-test can be used to garner control. Can she wear you down/intimidate/confuse/etc. into doing as she directs.

So, how do you control everything around you? The simple answer is you can't. You can't even control most of the things around you. Most of the time you can't control very much around you, not consistently any way. So what can you control? Yourself.

Those who exercise the most influence and power in the word are those who have mastered the art of self control, or can at least exercise it to a greater degree than those around them. This doesn't mean they are perfect or even masters of discipline. But, they tend to exhibit a higher degree of self control.

Self control is also critical in establishing and holding frame.

It isn't easy, it takes a lot of self awareness and environmental awareness. Discipline helps. As does experience. Meditation helps, lifting helps tremendously. It isn't something to be accomplished in a week, but to do it, you need to start now.

Anyone who isn't truly under self control should be aware of this going forward. The Alpha Game link on the side bar goes to a blog that has had some stellar discussions on being a Gamma lately. Read them, see how much you identify with the Gamma emotions/rational/situations. Lack of control, especially self control, figure hugely in being and making a gamma.

As you get better and better, be aware of unnecessary infringements on your capacity for self control. Jobs. Volunteering. Especially relationships. These should be arenas in which you bring and extend your self control to establish significant influence--think the constant guiding light in the storm, NOT the aggressive, intimidating spaz. They should not be environments which impinge on your capacity to exercise self control. If they are, make leaving them an immediate priority.

People on the TRP subreddits often complain about family courts and their capacity to strip a man/father of all control. If you find yourself in that situation, walk away. Obey the Court orders, but treat them like a tax or compulsory service. The second you have minimally complied, you're done. Do not even acknowledge the other parties exist otherwise.

TL/DR: A man will either be his own master or someone else's slave.
