So, my GF with which I've currently been with for 8 months has some significant daddy issues. Essentially, her dad cheated for a couple of years before the mom found out and all went to hell. The mom is a complete submissive, stuck in an abusive relationship (the dad is away half the time doing god knows what, probably fucking the other woman). He has 3 children (all girls) with the mom and a couple others with the other hoe. Since the dad is pretty much no help economically, the mom runs a small business and oftentimes my GF is left alone to care for her little sisters (absolutely no male presence). My GF has repeatedly told her mom to divorce the guy but apparently shes just kinda fucked in the head (dad doesn't really seem alpha at all from the time i've seen/talked with him, so no idea why she would continue in that kinda relationship). Even through all of this, my GF so far is probably one of the most awesome people i've ever met (caring, feminine, humorous, smart, and an easy 9 physically).

We had a problem about 2 months into the relationship because I was mostly invested in myself and really didn't dedicate much time at all to her. Which is alright, and the kind of relationship I want, but I understand I took it too far (3 weeks of events, work, homework, etc, meant that I only saw her for maybe 10-15 hours during those 3 weeks). So, feeling lonely, seeking attention, whatever her motivations, she contacted some ex-boyfriend and had some pretty flirty banter with him. Nothing super serious, but it pissed me off all the same. She got the message that I would not tolerate that kinda shit and would end it if things got out of hand.

Since then, the occasional scuffle but nothing major. While I understand many people will just say "Dump that hoe, major daddy issues", or some other shit like that, you guys must understand that I actually care for this girl. Not pussy-on-a-pedestal, lapdog kinda shit, but it would definitely hurt if I had to end things. I believe in (what I think is) the core tennet of RP; summed up, focus on making yourself better, and pussy comes naturally.

TL;DR: Girlfriend has daddy issues but seems like an awesome chick. WTF is going on, is this gonna be a source of problems?

I guess my real question is, what's your guys' take on the situation? Could this be a source of problems later on? Anything that I could specifically do to avoid them?

EDIT: We had some long talk tonight (she's on her period) where she cried about how it would hurt her when I leave (I'll be studying abroad in a year and a half, again, focus on me first) and that she "knows me", and that I'd get over it quickly. I kept frame, etc. She kinda unconsciously shit tested me by saying (essentially) "It would hurt, but you wouldn't have thaaat big an effect on me"- again, remained composed and gently chuckled. Should I just ignore this crap or talk to her about it?
