Personal anecdote time:
Back in college, I remember hearing an ex-girlfriend talking to a friend of ours. (yah small social circles). She said "I've always wanted a boyfriend like that" in reference to this very alpha jock type. She was a shy, introverted nerd type. As was I. I was amazing to her. Did everything she said, bent over backwards, treated her like "a woman should be treated".
The lie I was fed for so many years. I was the best I thought I could be, and yet, after our relationship (she cheated on me with some other guy), she was still lusting after what I call the antithesis of me at the time. Was our relationship even real, or was it just a thing to hold her over until a better guy came a long? I had one more, longer, relationship the yielded the same result. I refused for so long to believe, but I arrived to the same conclusion.
I don't hate women. What they say they want, vs what they show they want is completely contradictory. The entire point is not sex, imo. BUT If I want sex, I'm not going to beat around some betabush ever again and put her on some pedestal.

I would agree, I've seen some real shady behaviour from some of my close friends girlfriends in that regard, hell, my best friend's gf (at the time) tried to hook up with me!

You're use of the word "only" is the problem here. Women aren't "only" good for sex. But unless a straight guy is having sex with a woman, none of the other stuff they are good for matters very much to him.
Women who do not provide sex are like de-facto males -- people we don't have sex with. This isn't sexism. If anything straight guys are sexist against men in that they are only willing to have sex with women, and not men.
