So what I'm hearing is, the less fucks given in any situation will produce fewer problems in a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

For those who do intense intellectual work (like computer programming) you need to realize that your brain has physical limits. If you pile up stress in your life for too long your brain will suffer "burnout".

It happens to me at times.

Yesterday I was really feeling burned out for a few hours and my mind was just not thinking that clearly. Usually there is some missing Vitamin or low something or other in your brain and once you find the right thing it pops right back.

Some people use some exotic stuff to boost brain performance, like steroids for brain power.

I'd say to try to avoid these boosters because you typically come crashing down after some use of them or you get addicted and then lose the benefit they once gave.

Stress needs to be lowered so you can rest.

The holidays are a great time to rest... make full use of it.
