At some point in his life, a woman will kill that part of the man's soul.

She will certainly try, it is in her nature...but thanks to places like this subreddit she may not succeed. Forewarned is forearmed, and all of that.

True enough. There is a lot of pain and hurt in this subreddit from men who have been legitimately wronged. I wish the militant feminist types would give those dudes time to breathe.

However, I am reminded of that quote from the poem about finding in yourself an invincible summer. It is the men that have built our entire civilization and developed concepts such as honour to boot. Swallowing TRP is bitter indeed and god knows it isn't easy. But ultimately it does (I hope) reconnect men with their truer inner selves.

The website is down/error 404.

It's back now. Must have gotten more traffic than expected?

I've thought about a site along these lines. Figuring out "automatic" administration is non-trivial. Presuming this is what it purports to be, I'm impressed.

I couldn't read anything at the mirrors either.

Edit: I found a list of mirrors at his memorial site: http://martinmanleymemorial.blogspot.ca/

It is fascinating, thanks for posting. The things I get from this are mainly:

  1. He liked to save a lot of money and didn't go on any vacations. Lesson: don't live only for the future
  2. The guy remained unchanging through most of his life. Barely any self improvement, nothing to look forward to. I know 60 year olds who live full lives traveling and volunteering around the world.

That being said, his choice to take his life while he was able enough to do it is a smart one. He saw a future of nursing homes and a pathetic, infirm death. He wanted to die on his own terms.

And finally, fedoras... So many fedoras... Fuck.

He never really lived, he was afraid to spend money, afraid to go on vacations, dude never really let loose and lived. Now afraid to get old , Me personally i want to live until i die. One of my favorite movies is Blade Runner, and the character that Rutger Hauer plays talks about all the amazing things he'd seen and done in his brief 5 years of life as a Replicant (Android).

Exactly, though in his defence I feel as if men are not really told that they're allowed to live, either through their fathers or through the implications of chivalry or maybe I'm just projecting lol. They are really only told the number of things they are not allowed to do.

Yes my friend it is called being in the Matrix for a reason right . If i were born in Borneo i would have been a cannibal. A Majority of men are never free no matter where they are born.

What is this fedora shit? I don't get it. It's not a thing in the UK. Wtf is this fedora thing all about? I keep seeing people mentioning fedoras on reddit and I'm like WTF?!

It's more than a fashion thing. That is, the hat itself isn't that common here either.

It's more generally used as an insult against the "neck-beard" type: like, "I'll bet you wear things I find weird and strange and I can insult your sense of fashion accordingly!"

I have no idea but people think they look stylish. I guess if you have a whole outfit to match it, it can, but man it's iffy.

I wish I'd learned the value of global travel about 15 years before I finally hit the road at 34. There is a ton to do and see in this world, and it's always pleasantly surprising who you cross paths with out on the road.

Downvoting this because your link doesn't work.

I don't care for reading the whole blog.
