First submission, dunno how to flair. Anyways...

Was listening some videos from this dude about weight/fitness/bulking and this post spiked my curiosity.

In here, he goes on to correlate man boobs an excess in estrogen in the body of his subscriber. According to him, this is due to aromataze :

Aromatase, also called estrogen synthetase or estrogen synthase, is an enzyme responsible for a key step in the biosynthesis of estrogens. It is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily (EC 1.14.14.1), which are monooxygenases that catalyze many reactions involved in steroidogenesis. In particular, aromatase is responsible for the aromatization of androgens into estrogens.

It catalyzes the last steps of estrogen biosynthesis from androgens (specifically, it transforms androstenedione to estrone and testosterone to estradiol).

These are present in highly processed, mass produces foods mainly due to plastic wrap/containers and the heavy use (or should I say, reliance) on pesticides that hold these aromatase catalysts. Again, this fact got check after a bit of searching around. This paper is the most reputable evidence on the matter that I've found.

I've cross-checked most of his claims and they seem to hold (he also sounds really intelligent and informed from the other videos I've seen), so hope this hasn't been discussed here yet and would give a nice discussion around it. In particular, applied to the red pill :

Could a strong correlation be developed between the omnipresence of such compounds in our foods and the recent (over-)feminization of society?

In particular, could the alpha/beta ratio be disrupted in industrialized societies due to the presence of these chemicals in our daily lives?
