Just got back from a night out where I was getting pretty friendly with this girl. I made a few mistakes with her so unfortunately she's not back with me, but that's not what the focus of this post is

All throughout the night, there was this one Canadian guy as part of our group who was constantly cock blocking me. Fair enough, I just assumed he was a big ton of beta bucks and wouldn't do any harm. We reach a club at 1 in the morning and I go looking for the girl from earlier a couple of times. Now every time I did that, he would follow me like a lost puppy, despite the fact that I had barely talked to him. That coupled with earlier, where he told me I should not get with this girl and every time I was gaming her, his face would show up out of nowhere, lead me to realize that this guy was beyond beta .

The part that i'm interested in is where at the end of the night, as we were on our way home, this guy wonder's why I've been giving him the cold shoulder all night. And he gets really persistant about it "What's your problem with me man?" "Why can't we be friends?" "We could be the best of friends man, you never know?"

I deliberately told him that I do not like him, not because of the cock blocking, but because he was feigning innocence and trying to get my approval. I specifically told him "I do not want to be your friend, you have pissed me off tonight, I do not need anymore friends". He persisted till I told everyone else I was going to lay this guy out. As i'm a 6ft 4 265lb offensive lineman, everyone stepped in and took this guy away.

I feel I handled this badly as I would not describe myself as a violent person (off the field of course). How would you have handled this/how have you guys handled guy cock blocks in the past?

*EDIT-I also don't feel I handled it well as when the other people in the group asked me what was wrong, I explained everything that I have told you guys. While they agree that this guy was weird, I feel that because I complained about him, I look weak
